The Blazer sometimes reaches 24 miles per gallon on long highway trips, which is far above any estimate which I have found online or elsewhere. It has ample ground clearance (even on my two-wheel-drive model) and 15' x 7' wheels on each corner, plus for the spare, which makes the variety of appropriate tires plentiful and often inexpensive. Other types of parts for the Blazer have been easy to find, plentiful in variety, and usually inexpensive.

Its sturdy construction, driver and front passenger airbags, and four-wheel disc brakes provide ample safety, even resulting in a lower insuran. The Blazer sometimes reaches 24 miles per gallon on long highway trips, which is far above any estimate which I have found online or elsewhere.

Its sturdy construction, driver and front passenger airbags, and four-wheel disc brakes provide ample safety, even resulting in a lower insurance rate than most of the 'mini' Blazers because of the front passenger airbag. Another advantage of the 15' wheel diameter (compared to the common 16' to 20' diameters on many newer comparable vehicles) is that the sidewall height is higher for a given tire diameter, resulting in a better cushioning effect on ride quality. I have hauled items as long as 10' in the Blazer without even having to keep a door or window open to accommodate the length.

I have hauled longer items by securing them to its standard luggage rack. One problem has caused me to need to have the Blazer towed in for service, and that was a failed fuel pump. The replacement cost me less than $700.00 Including installation. The fuel injection system has been blamed by several mechanics for gradually decreasing miles per gallon, especially during city driving. It also triggers a code in the diagnostic system at least as often as every 400 miles. I opted to learn how to reset part of the diagnostic system, mostly because it otherwise switches one of the on-board computers into a default mode, which drastically decreases miles per gallon.

While it's an awesome vehicle, it's of course not perfect. I've had to perform a couple of odd jobs on the Blazer over the years, including nominal things like fuses, medium jobs like swapping out the battery, and up to having to change out the fuel filter after it died one day.

The biggest/ongoing issue is the electrical throughout, though. No matter which fuses and bulbs I replace, our interior dome light, and some of the CD/radio buttons don't illuminate anymore. One other minor gripe is the protrusion of the wheel wells into the cargo area. There have been numerous times I've had to h. While it's an awesome vehicle, it's of course not perfect.

There have been numerous times I've had to haul stuff from one place to another, but had to make two trips because the cargo area wasn't as well laid out as it could have been. I have owned the Chevy Blazer for 2 years, I bought it used. It has performed great for me with little that had to be done to it considering its age it is in good condition.

I have triplet teens so the size of the back seat is great they all fit. This is a compact blazer but yet still roomy. The engine is one of the best part of the Blazer. It is in great condition no oil leaks and it does not burn oil. The down fall to the blazer is it is old so many more things can go wrong with it but on the brighter side it is old so parts are cheaper and labor is a lot less or you are able to work on it yourself. The 1998 Blazers engine is easily accessible and most parts are with in reach.

This vehicle only has 158 thousand miles on it and was well maintained for as old as it is. I would really r. I have owned the Chevy Blazer for 2 years, I bought it used. I would really recommend this vehicle to other people if they are looking for a decent used vehicle. Just because it is old does not mean it isn't worth trying it out they are cheap enough so what the heck.
