The one I liked was was over $26,000 as test driven. The Tucson, a bigger vehicle and actually Read More more comfort options I only paid $24000 after incentives. Honda had none and even as an employee I had no incentive. The ride of the Tucson was better, the interior and exterior design was superior. The ride of the Tucson was much better too. I'm a 225 lb.
Man and getting out of the Tucson was much more comfortable. The interior noise was less in the Tucson and the audio sound with the Infinity Sound in the Tucson way outdid the HRV. So I know that Honda has a better resale over time but I keep my vehicles until they are ready to be scrapped. Top it off I get a 100,000 mile 10yr powertrain warranty, three years app remote start and 5yr bumper to bumper the value of the Tucson is superior with my situation. By the way my research also showed the 2018 Tucson he the best initial quality award from JD Powers. This beat the Honda hands down!

Though it's not a class leader in any particular area and probably won't wow you, its just-right size, handsome style and commendable value should make a lot of sense for many SUV shoppers. Based on a redesign in 2016, the 2018 Tucson still looks the same and its various mechanical components remain unchanged. What is different for 2018 is the features you get and the ease in which you can pick them. The trim levels have been simplified this year and the features content increased. Apple CarPlay and Android Auto are now available with the smaller 7-inch touchscreen found on lower trim levels; the wider availability of heated seats enhances comfort; and stain-resistant cloth upholstery should make that post-hike cleanup a little easier.
As for those trim levels, the Tucson is now available in SE, SEL, SEL Plus, Value and Limited trim levels. The Sport trim is no more, which is fine since it wasn't at all sporty, and its Value replacement lives up to its name with a just-right blend of equipment, performance and price. The SEL Plus is a good choice for those willing to sacrifice some performance for some extra features, including leather seating. Unfortunately, the full array of accident avoidance technologies — and specifically forward collision warning — is restricted to the top Limited trim level. Other compact SUVs offer such tech on lower trims or even have it standard. On the upside, the Tucson gets the very highest safety ratings from the U.S. Government and the Insurance Institute for Highway Safety.
The SE, SEL and SEL Plus come standard with a 2.0-liter four-cylinder engine (164 horsepower, 151 pound-feet of torque) and a six-speed automatic transmission. The Value and Limited have a 1.6-liter turbocharged four-cylinder (175 hp, 195 lb-ft) and a seven-speed, dual-clutch automatic transmission. Front-wheel drive is standard on all trims, but all-wheel drive is optional. The base 2.0-liter engine returns 26 mpg combined (23 city/30 highway) with front-wheel drive and 23 mpg (21 city/26 highway) with all-wheel drive. Given its unremarkable power, that's disappointing.
The turbo 1.6-liter engine is actually better at 27 mpg combined (25 city/30 highway) with front-wheel drive and 25 combined (24 city/28 highway) with all-wheel drive. The small crossover segment seems to get a new entrant every month.
