Migrationtharris4625 answered 4 years ago Hi Not sure if this is an active thread, but i live in the boonies so mercedes tech came out and couldn't fix it (in fairness i wasn't charged) and he suggested i call the fire department, which i did. I had to sign a waiver before they opened the door in case of damage. But they e Were at my house 5 minutes after i called, opened the door within 10 minutes, then off again back to the station. It turns out they have training on opening doors with the infamous 'jaws of life' on the scene of an accident, but it takes a while (and as a result could end with a death) to set up and trashes the door in the process. Their preference is to open the door quickly with tools. The brought the tools, i gave them a free test vehicle, and voila - win/win. And they refused any payment because they said they were 'just doing their job.'
