Headset Connectors: Some vehicles have a rider headset connector on the fuel tank panel and a passenger headset connector on the left speaker pod. The headsets are used to operate the CB, intercom, voice recognition and other features on equipped models. Use the Harley-Davidson 7pin DIN headset that is supplied with equipped models or purchased from a HarleyDavidson dealer. Other headset microphones will not work.

See the instructions that are included with the headset to install in a helmet. Connect the headset by aligning the connector index on the headset connector with the console index on the connector. Audio routing for the headset is controlled through the radio. Volume and pushtotalk functions are done using the rider and passenger hand controls. The socket caps remain shut when not in use to prevent dirt and water from entering the socket.

Close both socket caps before washing the motorcycle.

Sporty is history and my '17 FLHR is sitting in the garage. Raining forever here in South Florida so time for add-ons since I can't ride.

Dealer says FSM is not yet available but I wanted to check here first. Nothing comes up online at usual dealers (Surdyke). Thanks to a member who posted the parts list I have that at least. The other problem is I wanted an electronic copy of the owners manual but the online version can't be downloaded. Anyone found a way to do this?

Should I contact my salesman? I like having everything on my iPad. Nick this has been discussed. HD does not provide electronic copies.

If you find one it will be not authorized and considered an illegal copy. The forum moderators will chime in I'm sure. Good luck and safe riding with your new ride. I hope your weather improves but Matthew may be on the way. Wm.If I am not mistaken the electronic copy he was referring to was the Owners manual which is available online at the HD website.

It just sounds as if the owners manuals for 2017 is not yet available online. But like you pointed out there is no online copy for the service manual. Thanks all for the answers. Yes I was referring to the electronic version of the owners manual.

I just don't understand not having an electronic copy of same. The online version which is view only is clunky and slow and that's on my fast desktop. In this day and age of smartphones having a quick reference in your pocket to check on tire pressure or how to unlock the security if you lose your fob makes sense. I can't also understand the reason not to offer an electronic version IF purchased with a paper copy. Do all the bike manufacturers do this? Or are we just the lucky ones?
