The following links contain the Modern History Scrapbook Activity instructions and Information – Notes Sheet, as well as links to the technology presentation project options that students can use to complete the project requirements. This project will help students to demonstrate mastery of the Georgia Performance Standards (SS8H10, SS8H11, and SS8H12), while also further enriching their knowledge of events that are not specifically contained in the GPS.

Lesson for Unit 9, Lesson 1: Personal Finance. These materials can be used by students to assist in the mastery of the Georgia Performance Standards contained in Unit 9, Lesson 1. Groups of students will alternate between completing four assignments, which include various literacy (reading and writing) requirements and skills, and using an iPad or their personal BYOD device to research job salaries and a cost of living “reality check.” At the end of class, all students will complete an evaluate written response, which will require them to think about their current career goals and the cost of living requirements for the type of life they would like to live in the future.

On Monday, March 21, students will participate in the fourth day of Milestones Monday. Students will be asked to continue/finish creating their Public Service Announcement (PSA) Project. Groups will be given the majority of the class time today to finish any additional research and to continue/finish creating their PSA, which can be completed as a poster, a pamphlet/flier/brochure, or any other teacher approved product type. 8th Grade Social Studies Worksheets

Students will be asked to analyze a series of images related to Georgia’s government. After analyzing the images, students will be asked to determine which key vocabulary term (from our Unit 8 Word Wall) the image relates to and then complete a written response explaining the person, thing, or event.
